Yesterday, our Year 9 girls were treated to a drama workshop and performance by Farnborough 6th Form Performing Arts students. The girls participated in many devising, improvisation and physical theatre activities and some even showed their short performances.
Year 9 girls thoroughly enjoyed watching the college students ‘Theatre in education’ performance which was based around their modern conflict/obsession with the internet. The BTEC students felt inspired by their own love/hate relationship with the internet and so created a piece in the style of Physical Theatre using the techniques of DV8 and Frantic Assembly.
The afternoon was a good example for using the internet wisely, as well as a great inspiration to our Year 9 girls, especially those wanting to take drama as a GCSE option.
