Success at the ISA Junior Golf Open

On Friday 7 October, Cameron in Year 6 and Louis in Year 3 represented Hawley Place School at the ISA London West Junior Golf Open competition played at Huntswood Golf Club in Buckinghamshire. The competition was played over nine holes and there were twelve golfers playing, representing six different schools.

Although the day was a little overcast, some of the golf played was sparkling. All young golfers played the game in the correct manner; trying their very hardest with a smile on their faces.

Cameron and Louis played together in the same four ball, and in true Hawley Place fashion encouraged each other every step of the way on every golf shot hit. Although an individual sport their team work was brilliant.

Louis played exceptionally well considering he was playing against pupils 3 years his senior. He finished around ‘mid-table’ in 6th place. Cameron also played very well and finished in second place, winning the ‘silver medal’.

Well done to both young golfers who were a credit to the school displaying; manners, sportsmanship, effort and courtesy to others, throughout the day.
