ISA Golf Success

Abbi was asked to represent Hawley Place School at the recent ISA Golf Competition held at Bramshaw Golf Club in the New Forest. The 18 hole competition consisted of 10 students ages 18 and under. Abbi was the only female.

Thankfully, the sun was shining on the day and Abbi managed to come in on 34 points, 2 points behind the overall winner; putting Abbi in 3rd position overall.

An excellent achievement!

Abbi was asked about her golfing career to date:

How long have you been playing golf?
I started when I was 4 with my dad. He used to take me on the weekend to Downshire Golf Course to play Pitch and Putt. I then started taking it seriously about 2 years ago and began lessons at Merrist Wood and Pine Ridge. I now play every weekend and participate in competitions.

What is your current handicap?
I play off 21 but my goal is to try and get to 18 by the end of May!

What has been your greatest achievement?
I have two! I won the Rookie Tour at Putnam Golf Course in April. I completed the 18 hole course in 44 points. My second highlight is making it to the final of the American Golf Long Drive. I was the youngest contender and came 4th. It was recorded and aired by Sky Sports.
